Liverpool interested in resigning Reina – reports

Reports in Italy suggest Liverpool are interested in resigning goalkeeper Pepe Reina from Serie A outfit Napoli.

Reina spent eight years at Anfield between 2005 and 2013, winning the FA Cup and League Cup, while also playing in the 2007 Champions League final defeat to AC Milan.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is targeting the Spain international as part of his summer revamp.

The Reds have already signed goalkeeper Loris Karius in a £4.7million deal from Mainz this summer, with the 22-year-old expected to put pressure on Simon Mignolet for a first-team place.

However, the report suggests Klopp still wants to sign another goalkeeper to take over as first choice next season.

Napoli, who initially signed Reina on loan from Liverpool three years ago, are understood to be reluctant to allow the 33-year-old to leave.
