Liverpool issue injury update on Daniel Sturridge
Liverpool have issued an injury update on striker Daniel Sturridge. Are they aware he’s at West Brom now?
Sturridge was substituted just four minutes into only his second West Brom start on Monday evening, with Chelsea beating the Premier League’s bottom club 3-0.
Liverpool have confirmed that the striker ‘is expected to miss’ the Baggies’ next two matches – against Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday, and at home to Huddersfield next weekend.
Sturridge suffered a hamstring injuries in the early stages of the Stamford Bridge defeat, and will be sidelined as a precaution.
West Brom manager Alan Pardew discussed the situation on Friday.
“Daniel Sturridge isn’t available. He has a hamstring injury,” he said.
“We don’t think it’s a very serious one but it’s probably serious enough to keep him out of the next two games. Then we’ll have to see where he is.”
