Liverpool are looking to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar for a club-record £70million fee this summer.

The Reds emerged as serious contenders to sign Lemar this week, with Arsenal ruling themselves out of the race.

Manchester United have also been linked with the French international, but it appears as though they may lose out to Liverpool.

French newspaper L’Equipe reported on Monday that that Merseysiders have submitted a bid for Lemar, which has been corroborated by reliable Liverpool journalist Melissa Reddy of Goal.com.

Reddy reports that the deal would be ‘worth over £70 million inclusive of extras’.

Monaco are thought to be reluctant to lose the 21-year-old, but Divock Origi could be offered in return.
