Jurgen Klopp says Dejan Lovren should return for Liverpool against FC Augsburg in the Europa League next week.
Lovren is currently sidelined with his fourth separate injury of the season, with the Croatia international sustaining a knock to his knee against Sunderland last week.
Klopp has revealed that while Lovren will miss this Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa, the defender should return against FC Augsburg in the Europa League last-32 the following Thursday.
“Lovren will not be available for Aston Villa but hopefully for the next game,” said Klopp, who added, of defensive partner Martin Skrtel: “He is back on the pitch but needs time.”
The German also discussed the injuries suffered by Joe Allen (shoulder) and Steven Caulker (back).
“Allen is unfortunately out for a while,” said Klopp. “He was in a really good way, we tried to manage time after injury when I came, but then he gets a little knock. We have to wait a little bit for him.
“Steven Caulker had problems before West Ham but is available now.”
