Liverpool will unveil goalkeeper Loris Karius as their third signing of the summer this week, according to reports.
Mainz keeper Karius will undergo a medical at Anfield within the next 24 hours after Liverpool agreed a fee for his services.
The Reds will reportedly pay £4.7million for Karius, who will provide competition for current shot-stopper Simon Mignolet.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the club are unlikely to confirm the deal until Tuesday evening ‘at the earliest’.
The 22-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga for Mainz this season, featuring for every minute of an impressive league campaign for the club, in which they finished sixth.
Mainz boast the joint fourth-best defensive record domestically this season, conceding just 42 goals in 34 games, with only the top three of Bayern Munich (17), Borussia Dortmund (34) and BAyer Leverkusen (40) bettering their record.
Karius will become the club’s third signing of the summer, following Joel Matip and Marko Grujic, but Jurgen Klopp has no plans to stop there in his rebuilding.
Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze is widely reported to be a target, while the Echo says Klopp is also keen on Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
ESPN FC, meanwhile, claim Udinese and Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski, 22, is also on the Reds’ list of targets as they look to get their transfer business done as quickly as possible.
Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell has also been linked with a move to Anfield.
