Liverpool winger to choose between Championship pair

Liverpool will allow Sheyi Ojo to be loaned out to one of two Championship clubs after Newcastle failed to provide an acceptable offer for the winger.

Ojo emerged as a Newcastle target earlier this summer, but the Liverpool Echo report that they ‘have yet to put together a package’ which the Reds deem sufficient.

It is believed that Liverpool want around £12million for Ojo’s permanent sale, with a loan move far more likely.

We identified the 20-year-old as one player ripe for a loan this season, and it appears that he will be given the chance of two clubs.

The Echo claim that both Middlesbrough and Fulham are keen to take Ojo on for a season.

The latter are willing to offer guaranteed first-team football, while Boro manager Garry Monk has held ‘productive discussions’ over a deal.

Ojo was one of a number of players omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season tour squad earlier this week.
