Renato Sanches has distanced himself from reports that he could leave Bayern Munich this summer.

The Portugal international has been linked with a transfer away from the Allianz Arena following his disappointing first season at the club.

The 19-year-old only managed nine starts in all competitions and failed to score a single goal for the Bundesliga champions.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is understood to be a long-term admirer of the winger with Sanches reportedly snubbing a move to Old Trafford in favour of Bayern last summer.

However, Sanches is remaining coy over his future at Bayern, with his short-term future seemingly pledged to the German side.

“In principle I will stay at Bayern,” Sanches told Record.

“Of course Bayern Munich are a great club and I really enjoy being there.

“But if I do not stay at Bayern I will not be discouraged either. I will continue working as usual.

“Of course I need to play more, playing more gives me much more confidence. Let’s see what happens.”
