Lovren hopes to remove his ‘black cloud’ at Liverpool

Dejan Lovren hopes to remove the “black cloud” surrounding his recent time at Liverpool.

Lovren was subjected to death threats against both himself and his family after a number of poor performances for Liverpool.

It was the latest sorry example of the sad increase in social media extremism, and Lovren has not started for the club since he was substituted early in the defeat to Tottenham last month.

But the centre-half is hoping to overcome issues with form and injury, as well as the reaction from a certain section of the Liverpool support, to bounce back again.

“Let’s say there have been better days,” he told 24Sata of his struggles.

“You simply cannot change what has happened in the past.

“I would just love to finally get that black cloud away from me, so things can get better.

“It’s not easy for me. Maybe it’s interesting for everyone else, but I guess it’ll be better soon.”
