Dejan Lovren has attributed his rejuvenation this season to the love of a good man: Jurgen Klopp.
The Croatian defender endured a difficult first season under Brendan Rodgers after his £20m move from Southampton, but has been excellent since the arrival of Klopp.
Lovren is currently one of the Reds’ hamstrung players, but has been fulsome in his praise of the German.
“I needed someone like Klopp to push me, and to give me support,” Klopp told Sporske Novosti in his homeland.
“For such a man, I’m always ready to fight to the end, and for the team and the club.
“The fans now have me in a different view. I think that they are now starting to realise that I am worthy, and they regret that they initially had a different opinion.
“But Liverpool is a big club, and expectations are high, so it is normal that you are going to be criticised.”
