Romelu Lukaku has explained how he and Jesse Lingard discussed tactics to help Manchester United bring down Chelsea.
United came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Lukaku scoring the first goal.
He turned provider for the winner, crossing for substitute Lingard to head home.
According to the Belgian, that piece of play was no fluke, as the pair had spoken about a similar situation before kick-off. It turns out Jose Mourinho is not the only tactical master around here.
“I told him before the game that every time I go down the sides he needs to make sure he’s in the box because I will find him,” Lukaku told MUTV.
“And he did well on the run and it was a great finish.
“We realised between us that if we played a bit quicker between the lines we would create space for ourselves and that’s what we did, and I was happy with the goal.”
