Romelu Lukaku attempted to enter Manchester City’s dressing room during the derby tunnel bust-up on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho swore at Ederson and someone drew blood from Mikel Arteta’s beautiful face in the aftermath of City’s 2-1 win over United at Old Trafford.
Reports claim that up to 20 people were embroiled in a melee instigated by Mourinho asking City players to ‘show respect’ instead of loudly celebrating their derby victory.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a crowd gathered outside City’s dressing room in a ‘cramped corridor,’ at which point Lukaku was involved.
The Belgian was ‘seen leaping onto the backs of other United staff’ in an attempt to enter the dressing room, although it is stressed that ‘no punches were thrown’.
Instead, the MEN’s City correspondent Stuart Brennan reports that ‘the incident resembled a rugby melee with Mourinho at the heart of it, standing in the doorway’.
The Football Association has given United and City until Wednesday to reply to a request for observations of events.
Referee Michael Oliver did not witness the scenes, so the FA has not received a report on the matter from him.
