New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is obviously unimpressed with Eliaquim Mangala; he is reportedly considering a £51m bid for Italian centre-half Leonardo Bonucci.
Juventus have already turned down £38m for Bonucci but The Guardian claim that they could return with an offer far more difficult to refuse.
With both Italy and Juventus, the 29-year-old plays in a back three alongside Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini, but would presumably have to adapt to a more conventional back four, partnering Nicolas Otamendi, Mangala or the oft-injured Vincent Kompany.
City have already signed Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito but Guardiola is understandably keen to strengthen City’s defence ahead of his first season in English football.
In February he described Bonucci as “one of my favourite ever players” after facing his Juventus side in the Champions League.
