Man City to sign second right-back for £26.5m

Manchester City are set to sign their second right-back in a week with Real Madrid’s Danilo joining Kyle Walker in a £26.5m deal.

The Guardian claim that the fee has been agreed with Real Madrid for the Brazilian international who started only 17 La Liga games last season; Real Madrid will almost exactly recoup the fee they paid Porto two years ago.

Danilo was said to be a target for Chelsea, but it seems that Manchester City have won the ‘race’ for the Real Madrid reserve.

Walker joined City from Tottenham for a fee reported to be between £45m and £50m, but City were always intent on signing two right-backs after losing Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna on free transfers this summer.

City are already second only to AC Milan in summer spending across Europe this summer, but the signing of Danilo will take them into top spot after the signings of Ederson and Bernardo Silva.
