Man City vs Man United friendly cancelled

The friendly game in Beijing between Manchester City and Manchester United has been cancelled.

The game is part of the International Champions Cup, but doubts surfaced given the heavy rainfall in the city over the last few days.

With both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola expressing concerns about the state of the pitch, organisers have moved to cancel the game.

The game (otherwise a meaningless) friendly, was the first time that Guardiola and Mourinho would face each other since their battles in Spain. That must now wait until September 10, when it actually matters.

At what point do clubs believe that earning a few million quid for flying to the other side of the world isn’t the best preparation for the new season?
