Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has had a little dig at Arsenal following their poor start to the Premier League season.
The Gunners had been in relatively good form recently until their 2-1 loss at Watford at the weekend where they let a one-goal lead slip.
And that result means they are on the same number of points as Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League, but a huge nine points behind leaders Manchester City after only eight matches.
Keane was asked whether Tottenham were now ahead of Arsenal as the best team in north London and the Republic of Ireland assistant manager couldn’t resist having a dig at his former bitter rivals.
“I think most teams in the Premier League are ahead of Arsenal,” Keane told ITV next to former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon – who seemed to agree with the Irishman.
Keane continued: “Spurs now are rock solid, a really good team. They went to Real Madrid, they were very brave and showed a lot of courage.
“They manager and players deserve great credit because this is a top Tottenham team now. They can be a threat in the Champions League, getting into the knock out stages and getting to a quarter-final maybe.”
