Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has expressed his wish to play alongside Neymar “one day”.

Neymar replaced Pogba as the most expensive player in world football when he joined PSG from Barcelona for £198million last summer.

Pogba had previously held that title for just under 12 months after returning to Manchester Untied from Juventus for £89.3m.

Neymar, at the time of Pogba’s move, praised the Frenchman, stating: “I love the way he is and at some moment in time we’re going to play together.”

Pogba has returned the favour.

“I remember [what he said]. I really like him, too,” Pogba told TyC Sports. “He is truly the definition of joy on the pitch.

“I know that in Brazil, football is everything. It’s life. Everyone plays football in Brazil. When I see him play on the pitch and enjoying himself, with his technique, his agility … I love to watch him play.

“It’s a different style. He has his own style. When you say Neymar anywhere in the world, everyone knows who he is and what he does. For me, it would be a pleasure to play with him one day.”

Time to fulfil Ed Woodward’s fantasy.
