Anthony Martial has been dropped from Didier Deschamps’ latest France squad.
Martial has struggled for form at Manchester United this season, scoring just two goals in 11 appearances so far under Jose Mourinho.
The Frenchman suffered a head injury in September, but has failed to repeat his stellar performances from last season in his debut campaign.
He has lost his place in the France national team as a result, with Deschamps naming a 24-man squad for the World Cup qualifier against Sweden and friendly against Ivory Coast this month.
Taking his place up front is Olivier Giroud, who marked his return to the Arsenal first team with two goals in the 4-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

Before naming his squad, Deschamps offered the following warning to the 20-year-old.
“Jose Mourinho and I expect more from Martial,” said the manager. “It’s up to him to rediscover his form.”
