Juan Mata has attempted to cool speculation linking him with a move away from Manchester United this summer – telling a supporter: “Don’t believe everything.”
The Spanish midfielder has been identified as one of the four big-name players set to be sold by Jose Mourinho this summer amid reports he is looking to cut his first-team squad down to 24 men.
With Ronald Koeman hinting at a possible swoop for Everton, and with reports in Spain suggesting Espanyol are poised to launch a bid, Mata’s days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered.
With the £37.1million former club record signing set for a meeting with Mourinho this week, Mata has told a supporter on his way out of their Carrington training complex: “Don’t believe everything in the media.”

Although hardly conclusive proof the former Chelsea star will remain at United this season, it does seem the Spain star is not paying too close attention to speculation surrounding his future.
