The Royals picked up their first home win of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday and will line up in similar shape at the New Den.
Striker Shane Long was in superb form against the Eagles, winning two penalties with his running and converting one.
Ian Harte scored on his debut from the second spot-kick and will continue at left-back, leaving summer signing Marcus Williams on the bench. Midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson may find two games in four days too much so Michail Antonio could come in.
Right-back Andy Griffin remains out with a hamstring injury and midfielder Jay Tabb (ankle) and Julian Kelly (hamstring) are out.
Club captain Ivar Ingimarsson and Chris Armstrong played for the reserves last week after lengthy absences but are not ready for consideration.
