Middlesbrough have signed Adlene Guedioura from Watford for a fee of around £4million.

The midfielder, who had also been linked with Hull, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Riverside after spending just under two years at Watford.

Guedioura joined Wolves in 2010 before moving to Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and then the Hornets.

He made 48 appearances for Watford, including a loan spell, and scored twice.

He could make his Middlesbrough debut at Tottenham on Saturday with Boro two points above the Premier League relegation zone.
