Aston Villa have signed Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah, with Adama Traore moving in the opposite direction.

Adomah’s deal was confirmed on the club’s Twitter page and he becomes the club’s ninth signing of the summer.

Traore has moved to the Riverside in a separate deal, with the clubs not prepared to let either player leave until they had found a replacement.

Adomah helped Boro to second place in the Championship last season, scoring eight goals in 47 appearances, and has played twice in the Premier League for them this term.

Villa also bought Jonathan Kodjia from Bristol City in a deal which could rise to £15million on Tuesday and also signed Ross McCormack from Fulham for around £12million earlier in the window.
