Simon Mignolet is set to be dropped from Liverpool’s matchday squad to face Arsenal on Sunday.
Mignolet has started each of the Reds’ first two Premier League games, as well as their Champions League play-off fixtures with Hoffenheim, but is reported to not even be on the bench against the Gunners.
The Belgian is fit and available for the game, but it is understood that Jurgen Klopp will start with Loris Karius in goal and Danny Ward on the bench.
Journalist Kristof Terreur first reported the story, but insisted that the keeper was not set to leave the club.
Jurgen Klopp informed Mignolet after training yesterday. There was no transfer on the cards when the decision was taken. Ignore that story. https://t.co/mnymPDwPIz

The Liverpool Echo corroborated the claims on Sunday morning, adding that it is indeed a ‘surprise decision’.
Karius has not started for Liverpool since a 2-2 draw with West Ham in December, with his most notable contribution in his debut season being an argument with Gary Neville.
