Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Manchester United are holding positive talks over a move, according to his agent.
Premier League United emerged as a contender for the midfielder’s signature last week, with his future at Borussia Dortmund uncertain.
Mkhitaryan has rejected a new contract with the Bundesliga side and has expressed a wish to leave. His current deal expires next summer.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all linked with the 27-year-old, but agent Mino Railo confirmed that his client’s favoured choice was United last week.
Raiola reiterated both Mkhitaryan’s wish to leave and United’s interest on Friday, but the Italian has returned to insist that talks are being held between the two parties.
“It would be a sin to stop talking,” Raiola told BBC Sport. “I am a positive guy. If I wasn’t confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn’t try.
“I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere, but at the moment Dortmund are still saying no.”
