Man United agree £26.3m fee for Mkhitaryan?
Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund after the clubs agreed a fee, according to Sky Sports.
United’s deal for the Armenian has been edging closer over the last few days with Sky now reporting that a £26.3m fee has been agreed.
Mkhitaryan and his agent Mino Raiola have made no secret of the player’s desire to join United.
“He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation,” Raiola said last week.
“We are still talking to Dortmund. We are trying to be reasonable. They are aware that Micki wants to leave now.”
If the transfer fee seems cheap, that’s because Mkhitaryan only has one year left on his contract. Given that he’s announced he will not sign a new deal, it’s quite a good price for Dortmund.
Dortmund have already lost Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels this summer and are trying to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club. They’ll still be great next season.
