Monaco have rejected a world-record £103million bid for striker Kylian Mbappe, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Mbappe is certain to be perhaps the most coveted footballer of all this summer, the teenage forward having burst onto the scene for Ligue Un champions Monaco this season.

The 18-year-old has scored 26 goals in 43 games for the Champions League semi-finalists, and earned his first international cap for France in March.

It is expected that Mbappe could stay in France for at least one more season, with Monaco president Vadim Vasilyev stating that it is the club’s “priority” to keep him.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been named as the only four clubs who could afford to sign the forward this summer, while Liverpool reportedly had a £64.3m offer turned down this week.

The Telegraph reports that one of those aforementioned four sides have already had a bid rejected too.

Jason Burt claims that Real have been knocked back in their £103m bid, and that Monaco are instead ‘hoping to agree a new deal with Mbappe’ this summer.

It is added that the new French champions ‘have no interest in selling’ the forward, although those plans have the potential to change after the 2018 World Cup next year.
