Monaco to offer Mbappe massive pay rise to stay

Monaco will offer Kylian Mbappe a 900% pay rise in an attempt to stop him from leaving the club.

After a wonderful 2016/17, Mbappe has become the hottest property in world football, with his departure likely to cost any suitor more than £80m.

Real Madrid are still considered to be in the driving seat for the Frenchman, with Mbappe reportedly wanting to move to Madrid.

However, both Arsenal and Liverpool have also registered interest. Is Mbappe’s respect for Arsene Wenger really enough to counteract the lack of Champions League football?

Monaco have also not given up hope of keeping the 18-year-old forward. French media outlet JDD reports that they have offered to increase Mbappe’s wages from €18,000 a week to €162,000 a week.

That’s lovely, but is that really going to be enough to tempt him into staying? Real Madrid could surely offer double that amount?
