Jose Mourinho has wasted no time in aiming digs at managerial rivals Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger at his first Manchester United press conference.
Mourinho was officially unveiled as United manager on Tuesday, with his appointment having been announced last month.
The Portuguese replaces Van Gaal in the Old Trafford hotseat, but appeared to goad his predecessor within minutes of his first press conference.
“I was never very good hiding behind words and philosophies,” Mourinho said. “I was always much more aggressive in my approach.
With regards to his preferred style of the play, the former Chelsea boss added: “I imagined one of these questions were around corner. You can win the odd match not playing well but not competitions.”
The 53-year-old then targeted age-old adversary Wenger, who he clashed with numerous times during his spells at Stamford Bridge.
“There are some managers the last time they won a title was 10 years ago,” said the new boss. “Some never have. The last time I did was a year ago.
“If I have something to prove, imagine the others!”
We’ve missed you, you massive sh*thouse.
