Mourinho and Costa make up and make out

Jose Mourinho and Diego Costa made up with “a few kisses and cuddles” after an on-pitch bust-up in Israel on Tuesday night.

Mourinho was seen jumping up and down, shouting and gesticulating at Costa after he failed to support Eden Hazard in one first-half attack during the Blues’ 4-0 win.

Costa responded with some gesticulating and shouting of his own, and when the half-time whistle blew he stormed down the tunnel after Mourinho.

“I wanted him to do a certain movement that he didn’t,” said Mourinho. “I was disappointed and I reacted. He did too.

“At half-time in the dressing room, a few kisses and a few cuddles. No problem.”

Mourinho was more concerned by John Terry’s likely absence from Sunday’s clash with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

“I was saying before, such a beautiful stadium, such a fantastic public,” said the Chelsea boss. “They deserve a better surface because the surface was bad and dangerous.

“We trained on it just a little bit. We tried to protect ourselves. But by my surprise, Maccabi trained after us. Plus the warm-up before the game, the pitch was really bad.

“Ramires slid and has a muscular injury. John has an ankle injury I think down to the pitch, and we don’t know how bad it is yet.

“For John to leave the pitch with the score at 1-0, I know already that he’s in trouble.

“To be fair, my medical department is really good and John is a special guy with a special desire to recover, but to leave the pitch with the result 1-0, I don’t believe too much that he can play on Sunday.”
