Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given two reasons why Alexis Sanchez was underwhelming in Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Sanchez played 45 minutes on the left before switching to the No. 10 role in the second half, but failed to make an impression on the game.
The Chilean did not have a single shot or create a single chance at Wembley while being dispossessed four times.
Manchester United lost the game 2-0, having gone 1-0 behind after just 11 seconds.

“He worked hard,” said Mourinho. “But, again, the transformation the game had, the game was not for him and in the second half I try to give him a position where he could be more close to Lukaku but then he felt the need to drop too much and he was dropping too much to try to organise.
“But he gave everything, good effort and is a good feeling for me to know a player is available with that spirit.”
