Mourinho has updates on Pogba, Valencia and Herrera

Jose Mourinho has ruled Paul Pogba out of Thursday’s Manchester derby with City after declaring him “dead” when he was substituted late in the weekend’s win over Burnley.

The Frenchman has played 47 games this season and appears to have an accumulation of muscle injuries.

The United manager also confirmed that full-back Antonio Valencia is fit to return after missing the win at Turf Moor while Ander Herrera is fine after concerns about an ankle injury.

The list of unavailable players still contains the names of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata.

Said Mourinho in his pre-match press conference: “We go with what we have, we fight with what we have, I trust the boys and I go with everything we have and we go until the last second of the season. The boys are fighters and we go.”
