Mourinho keen for Ferguson to have more influence at Man Utd

Jose Mourinho wants Sir Alex Ferguson to be more involved with the decision-making process at Manchester United, according to reports.

Since retiring as manager in 2013, Ferguson has been a member of United’s ‘Football Club Board’, in which he is understood to have had a big say in the appointment of David Moyes as his successor.

However, alongside fellow Football Club Board members Sir Bobby Charlton and David Gill, the 74-year-old has since had little influence.

Instead the main Manchester United PLC board, which features Ed Woodward and six Glazer siblings, have chosen to largely excluded the trio.

And according to a report from Duncan Castles in Glasgow Live, Ferguson has become ‘frustrated by the limitations of his own directorship’ at Old Trafford, and believes he could help ensure the club is run more efficiently.

United boss Mourinho is reportedly sympathetic with the Scot, and is keen for the two boards to work closer together.
