Jose Mourinho has responded to recent criticisms from Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, accusing the striker of simply trying to sell his autobiography.

Drogba questioned the leadership in the Chelsea dressing room earlier this week, while the Ivorian has also had plenty to say on his former manager, Mourinho.

Drogba, who won 14 trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, six of which came under Mourinho, and the Portuguese believes his former striker is merely trying to sell his upcoming autobiography.

“When you speak because you want to sell books, I don’t read,” Mourinho said.

“I like interviews, I like interviews from big guys like Didier with good journalists or newspapers or television. But this is not an interview. It was to sell books.

“It doesn’t disappoint me, it was just the reality. It was just to sell books. I can analyse Didier’s interview with pleasure, but not Didier selling books.”
