Paul Pogba is joining the “perfect club” in Manchester United, according to Jose Mourinho.
After months of speculation surrounding his future, United finally confirmed that Pogba has been cleared by Juventus to undergo a medical ahead of a world-record move.
The fee for the 23-year-old is expected to reach an initial £89m, with add-ons pushing it towards £100m. Matt Stead feels the Frenchman prefectly encapsulates the club’s future.
Speaking after United beat Leicester 2-1 to win the Community Shield, Mourinho spoke of his delight at closing in on his top summer target.
“Pogba? Finally, he’s amazing,” said the manager, “such a good player will be with us and finally we have him.
“Finally we have him. He comes to a winning side. He has to work hard to come into the team.
“United is the perfect club to bring him to the level that he wants to be.
“I have seen Pogba running, basketball, he does everything, so he must be fit. I will be waiting on Tuesday.”
Mourinho did add he had been checking Pogba's Instagram during the window. #mufc

Mourinho insisted he had “no idea” whether the fee would break the £86m world record set by Real Madrid for Gareth Bale in 2013.
“I don’t think Madrid were upset when they broke the record for Bale and Ronaldo.”
