Mourinho’s feud with United board continues over Rose

Jose Mourinho has been left ‘frustrated’ over Manchester United’s ‘reluctance’ to sanction a move for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose.

Rose has long been a target of Mourinho and United’s, with the defender suggesting back in August that he could be open to leaving Tottenham.

The Daily Mail report that Mourinho sees Rose ‘as an ideal fit’ in his squad, but that United are yet to release the £40million necessary to sign him.

Chris Wheeler adds that the situation is ‘contributing’ to an ‘increasingly tense relationship’ between club and manager.

The Mail themselves claimed earlier this week that the club have been left angered by Mourinho’s constant complaints over financial backing.

And the club believe that Luke Shaw is a ready-made fit at left-back, where Ashley Young has featured for most of the season.

‘It’s understood that they want to let Shaw develop further and sign a left-back for the future,’ Wheeler writes of the club’s overall thinking. ‘A number of options are being considered including Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon.

But Mourinho favours a move for Rose as he can make an ‘immediate impact’. Left-back is one of the three positions the manager has earmarked to strengthen this month.
