Moyes unhappy Sunderland could not hang on

David Moyes thought Sunderland had done enough to earn a point against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Black Cats were finally broken down in the 75th minuted by Divock Origi before James Milner added a second from the penalty for the hosts.

Sunderland’s latest defeat still leaves them rock-bottom of the Premier League, but Moyes appeared to be content with his side’s efforts.

“I thought we had done enough to keep them out,” Moyes told Sky Sports.

“The first goal was always going to be crucial; they had the chances and the ball. I am disappointed with that first goal. But overall we worked very hard to stay in the game.”

“We were never going to come here and have lots of chances so it was always going to be tough. But we weren’t going to be rolled over and we weren’t.”
