My agent will listen to Real Madrid offers – Courtois
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admits that his agent “will listen” to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez if he calls to express an interest.
The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants for the last couple of years with Real reportedly deciding between Courtois and Manchester United’s David de Gea as their next long-term keeper.
Courtois’ contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2019, meaning he will be free to talk to foreign clubs next January if he hasn’t signed a new deal with Chelsea.
The Blues were held 1-1 by Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night and following the match the keeper tried to clarify recent comments that his “heart” is in Madrid.
“I’m not clear about my future, what I said that my heart is in Madrid was misunderstood,” Courtois said.
“I have two children in Spain, in Madrid, and that’s not easy. I have one year left [here] and I’m happy and talking to Chelsea.
“They have bet on me from the first moment and that is not forgotten. I do not think Florentino Perez calls me, he will call my agent and he will listen to him.”
