Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has suggested former Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski could become the ‘next Kevin De Bruyne’.

Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign the Poland star after taking over at Anfield but the Reds failed to clinch a deal in January 2016 and again that summer.

Liverpool’s apparent refusal to meet Udinese’s £13million asking price allowed Napoli to pounce and the 23-year-old has made a success of his move to the Stadio San Paolo.

So much so that Sarri believes Zielinski could go on to emulate the progress of City star De Bruyne.

The Napoli coach told Tuttomercato: “He is an absolute talent, he also has great physical skills and if he grows in the level of personality, he can play in any area of the court, the new De Bruyne.”
