Phil Neville says that he is surprised that Liverpool didn’t sign Joe Hart this summer.
Hart was made available for a move by Manchester City, and eventually joined West Ham on a season-long loan.
Yet Neville believes Liverpool could do with a goalkeeper of his quality and experience. Can he play in central defence?
“I’m surprised he didn’t go out and get Joe Hart,” Neville told BBC 5Live.
“Joe is a real top-class, experienced goalkeeper.
“I think he’s (Hart) better than what they’ve got.
“I think he would have given them a bit of stature at the back.”
For balance, we believe that Neville is way off on Hart, whose form has tailed off so badly in the last two years that he may surely lose his England place. If Klopp is going to buy another new goalkeeper, it needs to be a top performer.
