Jamie Redknapp thinks new signing Sadio Mane is exactly the type of player Liverpool have been “crying out for.”
Mane, who has scored 21 goals in 67 Premier League appearances, joined the Reds for £30million from fellow Premier League side Southampton and is the club’s third most expensive player of all-time.
The Senegal international scored his first goal for Liverpool in their 4-0 friendly victory over Barcelona and Redknapp thinks Mane can provide his former club with a “different dimension.”
“Mane caused so many problems playing for Southampton against Liverpool that I’m not at all surprised they have signed him,” he told the Daily Mail.

“The winger will have to justify his £30m fee but he gets fans out of their seats — just look at when he broke Robbie Fowler’s record for the fastest Premier League hat-trick.
“Liverpool have been crying out for someone who can go past people and put in good crosses.
“Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho want the ball to feet but Mane can give Liverpool a different dimension running in behind with his blistering pace.”
