Nolito avoiding ‘distraction’ of Arsenal rumours

Arsenal transfer target Nolito says he is trying to not to be “distracted” by rumours linking him with a move away from Celta Vigo.

Nolito has been in stunning form for Celta Vigo in La Liga so far this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in just seven games.

As a result, the 28-year-old has been linked with both Arsenal and Barcelona in recent weeks, with the Spain international helping unbeaten Celta Vigo to third in the league heading into the second international break of the season.

However, left-winger Nolito insists he is not getting carried away with links to such illustrious clubs, and is instead trying to stay “disconnected” from any rumours.

“I try to be calm and disconnected from everything that is said about me,” Nolito told Mundo Deportivo. “I try to be the same as I always am and stay happy.

“I am calm and I just want to continue doing well with Celta. I have a contract with Celta and I am truly focused on them.

“I do understand that things are being said. I woke up to breakfast and saw myself on the cover [of the newspapers in Barcelona].

“Whatever has to happen will happen.

“As I said, I try to keep it out, it’s not good to be distracted with these things.”
