Norwich v Reading preview

Norwich are hopeful of welcoming Andrew Surman back to their squad for the game.
The summer signing from Wolves has not played for the first team since sustaining a knee injury against Ipswich on November 28 but the midfielder
made a 68-minute appearance in the Norfolk Senior Cup defeat by Dereham on Tuesday and may take his place in the squad should he come through the final training session at Colney.
Paul Lambert has no new injury problems to contend with as his side look to bounce back from last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Burnley at Turf Moor.
Midfielder Stephen Hughes, who has made just two appearances so far this season, has joined MK Dons on a one-month loan.
Reading have doubts over their top scorer Shane Long ahead of the visit to East Anglia.
Long, who has scored nine times in his last 11 appearances for the Royals, needed an injection in his hip to play against QPR last Friday and for the Republic of Ireland against Wales in midweek, so will be checked on.
Simon Church is likely to be partnered by Noel Hunt if Long is ruled out as Brian McDermott has stated that exciting new signing Mathieu Manset is not yet ready to start a game.
Midfielder Brian Howard is back in contention after recovering from his toe injury and defender Alex Pearce is also back in the squad after a thigh complaint.
Mikele Leigertwood serves the second game of a three-match ban after he was charged for violent conduct by the FA following the recent draw at Cardiff.
