Odubajo reflects on Hull’s play-off triumph

Moses Odubajo was delighted with Hull City’s “professional” performance at Wembley in the Championship play-off final last month.

Hull were promoted to the Premier League thanks to a second-half strike from Mo Diame that put a spirited Sheffield Wednesday side to the sword.

And Odubajo thinks that, apart from a few hairy moments, the Tigers were deserving of their victory.

“On the whole, you’d have to say that our performance on the day was a very professional one,” Odubajo told Hull City’s official website.

“We rode what Sheffield Wednesday threw at us early on and defended well as a team. Credit goes to the lads for keeping their big attacking threats quiet.

“We maybe should have been ahead before half time with the opportunities that we had, but the manager just told us to keep going as we were because if we did that, the chances would continue to come.

“The chances did keep coming, but we ended up scoring out of nothing from 25 yards and Mo Diame took that so well.

“Our big players really turned up on the day and that is all that matters.”
