Owen burns Ibrahimovic: He just stands around a lot

Michael Owen has launched a stinging attack on Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, accusing him of laziness.

Speaking on BT Sport, former United striker Owen criticised Ibrahimovic’s movement, believing his height is what helps him succeed.

Ibrahimovic scored United’s winner on Thursday evening, and has scored four Premier League goals this season.

“His movement disappoints me a bit. He just stands a lot,” Owen said.

“Because of his height he gets away with it.

“There was no movement from him. He just tends to stand at the back post and wait for the ball.

“There were a few crosses tonight and he stayed in the same position.”

Even if that was true, Michael, it’s working out pretty well for a 35-year-old striker. Maybe it’s called ‘adapting your game’.
