Owen ‘feels sorry’ for those playing with Pogba

Michael Owen says that Paul Pogba is Manchester United’s biggest problem in midfield.

Speaking on BT Sport before United’s game with Fenerbahce, Owen criticised Pogba for his form, saying that he feels sorry for the other midfielders.

“I feel sorry for some of the midfield players because some of them are not playing bad – there are players that are playing well,” Owen said.

“The problem is, Pogba is not playing as well as he should be, so everyone else is sort of taking the brunt of it.

“Now they are trying to find people so that it makes Pogba play a little bit better. I’ve always said that [Michael] Carrick is probably that man.

“I almost feel sorry for some of those midfield players because he is the problem.

“He is a world-class player and they have to get the best out of him because he is so good, but it’s almost other people who are suffering – it doesn’t matter how they play personally, it’s about how Pogba plays in many ways.”

Tomorrow, Paul Scholes will say something controversial about a Manchester United player. That’s just how it goes now.
