Ozil: Decision to leave Arsenal (or stay) not yet made
Mesut Ozil says that he has not decided his Arsenal future yet, but feels comfortable in London.
Speaking to German newspaper Die Welt, Ozil said that Arsenal’s current league position was unsatisfactory, but believes they will soon improve upon that.
The expectation is that Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal this summer should Arsene Wenger stay, but the attacking midfielder hinted that is hardly that cut and dry.
“Do you think Arsene Wenger tells the journalists about my future before he tells me? I know him differently,” Ozil told Die Welt.
“I have a contract until 2018 in London and I feel very comfortable there. We’ll talk soon and then make a decision.”
“Of course, we have had a difficult time recently and we are not satisfied with sixth place. I am convinced, however, that we will catch up again soon.”
Last week reports linked Fenerbahce with a move for Ozil, while a move back to Germany with Bayern Munich has also been rumoured.
