Mesut Ozil has hinted that he could be persuaded to stay at “a big club like Arsenal”.
Ozil’s future in north London is in doubt, with the German’s current contract expiring in the summer.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old, while Barcelona are also interested.
But Ozil has suggested that there is a chance he could stick around with Arsene Wenger and the lads.
Asked at a mock press conference set up by Sky Sports with children from the Young Gunners fan club, Ozil was asked what persuaded him to join the side from Real Madrid in summer 2013.
“Because of the history and the amazing players,” came the answer. “I’m here to learn, to grow up and to show my talent for this club.
“This club has made me bigger. I’m so proud to play for a big club like Arsenal.”
