Mesut Ozil has rubbished reports that he could leave Arsenal if Arsene Wenger remains manager.
Ozil has emerged as Arsenal’s most important player this season, assisting 18 goals and scoring five in a stellar Premier League campaign.
Despite the German’s best efforts, Arsenal reside 11 points behind leaders Leicester in the Premier League title race, with Tottenham sandwiched in between the two sides. The Gunners have also exited the Champions League and FA Cup, and are in imminent danger of suffering their ninth season in the last 11 without winning a trophy.
It was reported on Tuesday morning that Ozil will look to leave Arsenal if under-pressure Wenger remains manager at the club, with Don Balon linking both former side Real Madrid and Barcelona with interest in the 27-year-old.
But the German international has moved to rubbish such claims via his Twitter account, pointing out that Wenger was integral to him joining in summer 2013.

Ozil’s current contract at Emirates Stadium expires in 2018, and it is believed that Arsenal are eager to improve his terms with a new deal. You can probably replace ‘eager’ with ‘desperate’.
