Poch compares striker search to finding love

Pochettino said earlier this week it was “obvious” Spurs needed another striker to compete with Harry Kane, but West Brom continue to insist Saido Berahino will not be sold before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
A deal to sign Son Heung-min, who scored 17 goals for Bayer Leverkusen last season, is complete, while Clinton N’Jie could be involved against Everton this weekend, but both players are more likely to play out wide rather than through the middle, leaving Pochettino still chasing another signing.
“It is never easy,” the Argentine said. “There are always a lot of players around the world that you can sign. But it’s like when you are in love with some lady – there are a lot of women around the world, but you want only one.
“Sometimes it is impossible. It’s about love. And in football, it is the same.
“For us, it is important to add the right profile – a player who can play under our style, our philosophy.”
N’Jie is likely to start on the bench against Everton, with Pochettino admitting he is not yet ready for 90 minutes.
“I think it’s difficult, because he was injured in pre-season with Lyon and it’s true that his fitness levels are not yet [right). I think it’s a big risk if he starts.”
Pochettino reported better news on the fitness of Danny Rose, adding: “He had a problem after Real Madrid in Munich but now he’s OK, he’s fully fit.”
