Pochettino heaps praise on Harry Kane after winner at Palace
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino believes his side ‘fully deserved’ their win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Harry Kane responded to a host of missed chances by heading the late goal that secured Tottenham’s 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
The England striker spurned three earlier opportunities but retained his composure to secure all three points and strengthen Spurs’ pursuit of a top-four finish.
“I think in the end we got what we wanted, and we fully deserved the victory, the three points puts us in a really good position in the table.
“We started to feel towards the end it was difficult today, but we always knew we could score, we had great players on the pitch, when you have them it’s always possible to score.
“We want to be involved in all competitions, so we have to prepare for Rochdale on Tuesday, and then we have Champions League next week, so we are doing well for all competitions.”
Pochettino also spoke on Kane, who scored his 150th club goal after missing a chance earlier.
“It’s important for him to keep going, and never get frustrated, so he’s great for the team.
“He’s incredible, and he’s achievements in this season, and the previous seasons too have been great. So congratulations to him for one more goal.”
