Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has cast doubt over Harry Kane’s fitness ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Saturday.
Kane went down clutching his thigh near the end of Spurs’ 4-1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday after scoring twice against the Merseysiders.
The England international sat out their Carabao Cup match against West Ham in which they managed to lose 3-2 at Wembley.
“We need to assess the team, we were forced to rotate for different reasons,” Pochettino told beINSPORTS.
When asked if Kane would be fit to face the Red Devils on Saturday, he said: “We’ll see.”
On the match itself, Pochettino was disappointed that his side weren’t on the same “mental level” as they threw away a two-goal lead against Slaven Bilic’s outfit.
“We scored two goals and it looked like the game was over but we showed a lack of aggression and concede three in 15 minutes.
“That can’t happen. When you are not on the same mental level it is difficult. The opponent had nothing to lose, they started to believe and we started to suffer.
“Maybe we thought the job was done. The second half was not the same and it is difficult to accept.”
